Tournament Structure for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship
The Abu Dhabi Golf Championship is held each January, forming part of both the European Tour and the Rolex Series, the European equivalent of the PGA’s FedEX. As a result, the tourney has an elevated prize fund of $9 million, with the winner b🎉eing awarded $1.62m in total. This naturally draw🦩s in a big field filled with the biggest names in golf.
No fewer than nine holes from the 6,700 yard tees h🐼ave water hazards as a part of their makeup. The fairways are not too rough either, because the trees are set well back.
As a stroke play event, between day one on Thursday and day four on Sund🅺ay, players must complete a full round of 18 holes four times. If players remain ti🎃ed, the tournament will trigger a three-hole playoff in order to find a winner.
The Rolex Series
is a series of eight tournaments which pay a minimum of $7 million as well as awarding an increased amount of Race to Dubai points. The series was created in 2017 with the express intention of attracting the best in the world. Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Betting Tips & Predictions 2023
The 18th edition of the Abu Dhabi Championship gets underway this week at Yas Island, and for those who have a penchant for links golf, they could have a fruitful time. It will also give Europe’s Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald a chance to have another look at the potential contingent for the Ryder Cup later this year. , Tyrrell Hatton will b🎃e eager to get into the winning circle. The 2021 champion was a 14/1 chance to win the event then, and he is currently trading at a short favourite at 9/1. If the putter is red hot, he could be unstoppable, although the only question mark with him is his temperament, as he can boil over at times.
Of course, you will need to keep an e🔴ye on the weather. If the wind lays down over the four days and the conditions are benign, this could play into Robert MacIntyre’s hands. The Scot, who is used to links courses, such as Royal Portrush and St Andrews, has two DP World Tour wins to his name and he would be keen to add a🐬 Rolex Series title to his trophy collection. He is making his first competitive appearance in 2023, and we know how unerringly accurate he can be from tee to green. He could post some low scores this weekend, and while he might not win, perhaps he ought to be shorter than his 25/1 price suggests.
Or, if you are looking for value elsewhere, then you may wish to consider Adrian Meronk. The Polish golfer enjoyed a sensational 2022, and he rounded it off with victory at the Australian Open. His confidence will be high after emerging victorious with Europe at the Hero Open, and he could well lay down a marker or two. He has improved all facets of his game, and arguably he shouldn’t be disꦬcounted at 33/1. However, he may well have t🗹o settle for a top-10 finish.

Popular Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship Betting Markets
While horse racing and UK football betting tend to be more popular among UK punters, golf is the ultimate sport for betting as it 💛offers variety and value in abundance. Just take a 🌺look at the following options.
Outright Winner Betting
Outright tournament betting on the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is no different to betting on any other golf tournament. You simply pick the player from the field of competitors that, in your opinion, is the most likely to win the whole competition. The odds on the favourite players will obviously be lower than they will on less fancied golfers, but even then, because of the huge field size, you ar🔜e still very likely to get good value on the favourites.
Top Leaderboard After Day One Betting
This bet is a good one because it is only concerned with one day of play. Naturally then, bettors are four times mor꧋e likely to pick a winner of this bet than an outright winner because, to win an outright bet, selected players must keep their form up for each of the four days play. In this case, however, your pick only needs to play well and top the Abu Dhabi 🧔HSBC Championship leaderboard for the first day. After that, who cares?
Six Shooter Betting
Six shooter betting in golf is where the online bookmaker selects six competing golfers to go, for the purposes of this bet alone, into battle. Technically, they are not in competition with regards to𒀰 the wider tourney, and their collective is purely for the purposes of this wager. While esse🦋ntially the same type of bet as two or three balls betting, the difference is that here the players involved in the bet are not actually matched in the real competition. If the player you back posts the best score out of all of the six he has been pitted against, your bet is a winner.
Make/Miss the Cut
The cut line is a very popular market for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and it is available at most reputable golf betting sites. This entails the tournament’s organisers setting🌜 a line after the second round on Friday, where half the field will be discarded with once a score set. So, for example, if the cut line is par and players are 1 or 2 over par, then they will be sent packing. Ultimately, the cut line will be determined by how the course is playing and weather conditions.
Top Nationality Betting
This is a bet that tasks you with selecting the nation from which the eventual winner will call home. For the main part, a PGA Tour event will feature an overly American crowd but, of course, that doesn’t mean that it🐓 will be an American that will win. This being a Eur﷽opean Tour event means that there is a better chance of another nationality winning the title. Either way, the idea is simple. All you need to do is pick the country that the eventual winner comes from.
History of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship was first held in 2006 and, at the time, was one of three Arabian Gulf 𒉰States tournaments on the European Tour. The tourney is, in part, organised by the A🍎bu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority Visit Abu Dhabi.
After five years, HSBC jumped on board as the main sponsor of the tournament. Until then, the♊ prize fund had been around $2 million, but the involvement of the bank allowed the prize fund to rise to $3 million. In 2019, the event, now one of six annually held in the UAE, was included ꦓas part of the European Tour’s Rolex Series, creating another boost for the prize fund that today stands at $8 million.
Thomas Pieters took the spoils in 2022 as he b🐼attled testing conditions at Yas Island to finish a shot clear at Yas Links. The Belgian carded a round of 72 to claim his sixth DP World Tour title, and his first i♏n a Rolex Series event.
